A stone’s throw from Route 23, and across the street from Arborland, sits the Ann Arbor Thrift Shop. Run by volunteer-members continuously since 1932, the Ann Arbor Thrift Shop is a small, stocked, and organized thrift store that has plenty to choose from whether you’re looking for clothing, books, or housewares. And with each sale, they help provide emergency assistance to social service agencies and individuals alike. In the last year they donated over $400,000 to those in need in the Ann Arbor community.

Their book section is in the back right corner of the shop. It is not very big, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality. There are several genres represented, from cooking to science fiction, and a lot in between. They have a wide selection of popular literature, and most books are in excellent condition, remembering that they are second hand. Most books are priced between $.50 and $2.00.
